Wokekoro made this promise while receiving the student wing of the APP, led by Allawite Daniel, and other party officials.

He emphasized that the APP will not compromise its vision and mission by allowing a single individual to control the party.

The chairman expressed confidence that disheartened members of the APC and PDP will join the APP, citing the party’s commitment to a level playing field.

He invited students and others to join the party, registering to ensure a strong presence in future elections.

Wokekoro also commended the students for supporting the party and the Rivers State government, urging them to join the APP to contribute to the state’s progress.

He emphasised: “As I speak to you today, I am inviting you all, especially those of you who are of age, to join our party and register. This will ensure that when the time comes for the governor to seek re-election, our party will be a strong contender amongst many others.

“Being the governor of Rivers State is a difficult task, so we must work together to convince the governor to run for re-election with our party. We must also consider other elective positions, and the best way to prove to the governor that our party is the right choice for his candidacy is by starting with the local government elections as per the RISEC timetable. Through this, we can demonstrate to the people of Rivers State, to the governor, and to all Nigerians that the APP party is here to stay,” he added.

Also, the national legal adviser of the party, Barr Henry Odili, assured that the party’s leadership would provide purposeful guidance.

Barr Odili emphasised, “We want this party to be the means by which Rivers State moves forward.”

Earlier, Allawite Daniel, the leader of the Action People’s Party student wing, declared his support for the party while expressing the students’ readiness to work with the state and national leadership of the party.

“We also support the governor; wherever our governor is, we will go back, mobilise, write back, and return to show you how we are. We have come to say that we are still in the process of constituting leadership, and we are appealing to be part of the activities of the party; hence, we also want materials that identify the party to be extended to us,” he added.
