The validation was made to gather feedback from stakeholders in order to ensure that the manual is relevant, effective and aligned with the context and needs of adolescent girls in the state.
Speaking on the overview of life skills training manual, a resource person of the STCI, Professor Abdulateef Femi Usman said it is designed to equip the adolescent girls with the necessary tools and skills to navigate the challenges of growing up, while fostering their personal development, emotional well being and social interactions.
Usman said the manual is a guide for the safe spaces teachers which will enable them groom the girls effectively both mentally and emotionally.
The head of migration, mobility and protection of STCI Rabiu Bello Gandi said the validation is necessary to achieve seamless experience during the programme.
“The validation draws key stakeholders across different organizations and students from selected secondary schools”.
Applauding the excellent performance of the students, the Executive Secretary of the Female Education Board, Professor Mustapha Tukur Namaka gave free JAMB Forms to the students.
Namaka expressed satisfaction with the presentations made by the female students, during the workshop adding that, there is always a reward for hard work.
The goal is to help the girl child build a strong foundation for emotional well being, understand emotions, promote emotional intelligence, build self esteem, achieve set goals, and cultivate effective communication skills in both verbal and non verbal context.
