However – The Blues and Pochettino shocked the Premier League this week when it was announced that the former Tottenham boss would be leaving the club after just one season at Stamford Bridge.
CHELSEA once again find themselves in the market for a new manager and several names have been tipped as possible replacements for Pochettino, including Kieran McKenna, Roberto De Zerbi, and Thomas Tuchel
But amid the speculation that Chelsea really are interested in McKenna – Cole has opened up and said he has been massively impressed by the ‘amazing job’ the Northern Irishman has done at Portman Road after back-to-back promotions.
‘I don’t know about a mentality. I can just say that the job he’s done at Ipswich over the past two years has been fantastic,’ the three-time Premier League winner said when asked if McKenna had the right ‘mentality’ to manage Chelsea.
‘I don’t know any personal information about him but if you’re asking me, “Has he done a good job at Ipswich?”, he’s done a fantastic job, an amazing job, so you’ve got to give him credit there.’
You have to give him credit for the job that he has done at Ipswich – it really is amazing – but the Premier League is a totally different level and he needs to be tested before making the move to a club like CHELSEA.
There are surely alot of fans out there that dont want to see McKenna take over the club
