The visit was to offer final respects to the late monarch and to extend condolences to his widow, Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede.
Aiyedatiwa, said while he mourned the Oba Oluyede, he also celebrated his remarkable life of service to his people, the state, and the nation.
He lauded his exemplary leadership quality and noted that he will be missed for the peace and tranquility witnessed in his domain.
The Amapetu of Mahin Land, Oba Segun Williams Akinyomi, led other traditional rulers from Ilaje Local Government to bid farewell and offer condolences to the monarch’s wife, Olufunmilayo, who hails from Ode Mahin in Ilaje Local Government.
Other eminent Nigerians described the late monarch as” an exceptional king who used his ancestral stool in the service of humanity.
Meanwhile, the grand finale of the burial rites for Oba Ajibola Oluyede took place in Ayede Ogbese, located in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria.
His children, Dr Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell and Prince Adetunmbi Oluyede, joined by family, friends, and colleagues, celebrated their late father’s life in grand style.
The monarch was privately interred at the Royal Mausoleum in Ayede Ogbese.
Following this, his daughter, Dr Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell, was installed as the Regent of the town.
The burial ceremonies featured a Farewell Novelty Football Match, flagged off by the Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, with significant financial prizes presented to the winners.
A special valedictory court session was conducted in honour of the renowned monarch at the Ondo State High Court of Justice, Akure Judicial Division.
Other events included a service of songs and the Oba Awon Oba Concert.
Eminent Nigerians attended the reception which featured cultural dances by the Ilaje cultural troupe and the Ondo State cultural troupe.
The monarch’s son, Prince Adetunmbi Oluyede, said his father left a legacy of love, generosity, and selfless service to God and mankind.
Oluyede pledged to build on the solid foundation his father had laid to continue impacting lives and changing society for the better.
The monarch’s daughter, Dr Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell, described her late father as a generous and hardworking man who took great care of his family.
Oluyede- Campbell spoke of him as a man who brought his children up in the way of the Lord and was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether you were close to him or not.
