The PDP is facing a number of crises: from the unresolved imbroglio caused by the G-5 governors ahead of the 2023 general election over the choice of the presidential candidate; the dissension over the party’s National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum; and the tussle over the party’s national secretary’s seat between Ude-Okoye and Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

But Lawal did not give details on why the party supported Ude-Okoye for the position.

He said the party would come out stronger from its current internal squabble.

The governor said the PDP needed to learn lessons from certain mistakes, noting that the resolution of the governors’ meeting in Delta State showed that the party was making efforts to come out stronger to lead Nigeria to greater heights.
