Reports have claimed Chelsea are willing to part ways with one of their top stars in order to bring in Michael Olise. However, he ended up signing a new deal to stay at Selhurst Park, and the Blues moved on to other targets, notably Cole Palmer.
The former Manchester City man has been arguably the signing of the season in the Premier League this season, notching up 21 goals in the competition already.
Many will have feared for where they would have been without the 22-year-old this season, although the quality Olise has shown recently backs up their reasoning for wanting him before.
He scored twice in the 4-0 domination of Manchester United earlier this week, piling more misery on Mason Mount after his summer switch from Stamford Bridge.
Now, it has been reported by The Boot Room that the Blues are still keen on a move for the Frenchman, and are even willing to offer Raheem Sterling as part of a potential deal.
The England international has struggled to be the star many hoped he would be after his £50m switch from City, and has been a fairly unpopular figure this season in particular.
One thing which may go against Chelsea’s chances of pulling off this move is the disparity in wages between the two players. Sterling is currently the highest paid player at the club.
It has been reported previously that they are keen to part ways with Sterling this summer, with his role in the first team diminishing in recent weeks.
The opportunity this has afforded to Noni Madueke who has been taken with both hands, and the youngster has proven to Mauricio Pochettino that he certainly has a place in the future.
