Thiago Silva is leaving Chelsea after reaching the end of his contract and is unlikely to be the only departure.
Conor Gallagher has been linked with a move to Aston Villa and selling him could help the club stay in line with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.
Chelsea closing in on first signing
In terms of incomings, Chelsea look set to wrap up the signing of one attacker this week.
According to Globo Esporte, Palmeiras are hoping to finalise the sale of Estevao Willian to the Blues in the coming days.
Because Estevao is still 17, the winger will not be able to officially join Chelsea until next year.
Whatever the case, it looks like the club will get their hands on the young Brazilian, who has been tipped to go far in the game.
The head of Palmeiras’ youth set-up Joao Paulo Sampaio described him as an “out-of-this-world” talent in an interview with FIFA last year.
When could Estevao Willian make his first-team debut for Chelsea?
He is likely to make it when he is 18. At that age, Estevao will obviously still be a very young player.
Loaning him out could be the wise thing to do, but it does not look like Chelsea are going to do that.
According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea plan to integrate Estevao into the first team as soon as he arrives at the club.
It means the Brazil youth international should make his Chelsea debut some point in 2025.
It is a bit of a wait, but considering all of the hype surrounding Estevao, he could be well worth it.
