Chelsea to sell Romelu Lukaku this summer
It’s been an incredibly disappointing second spell at Chelsea for Lukaku after returning in 2021 for a then-club record fee of £97.5million.
The Belgian spent last season on loan at Inter Milan before joining Roma on a temporary deal last summer.
The forward has enjoyed a reasonable stint in the Italian capital after registering 20 goals and four assists in 46 appearances this season.
Reports have suggested the Serie A club won’t look to sign him on a permanent deal due to concerns around his price tag.
That means Lukaku is likely to end up elsewhere this summer if any other interested parties decide to pursue a deal.
Finance expert Kieran Maguire previously told Football Insider that Chelsea could make an accounting profit if they sell Lukaku for more than £30million this summer because his contract has been amortised.
It’s expected to be another busy transfer window at Stamford Bridge after Football Insider revealed the club are planning to sell four senior stars before July to meet their profit and sustainability requirements.
The Blues currently find themselves seventh in the Premier League table after Pochettino has overseen a mini-revival in recent weeks.
