However – it is no secret that Chelsea missed out on a number of transfer targets that Mauricio Pochettino really wanted to sign, as targets simply did not want to join the Blues vision.
Sterling was supposed to be a game-changing signing for Chelsea when he made the move to London – but he has not been that impressive in a Blues shirt and has failed to impress on a number of occasions
Now – Merson believes the winger isn’t one of those players that the Blues will be able to shift quickly, partly down to his high wages.
“I like Raheem Sterling and still think he’s got lots to offer, but I don’t know how many takers he’ll have due to his wages”, Merson told Sportskeeda.
“It’ll be interesting to see how his future pans out this summer.”
CHELSEA have been signing some great young players over the last couple of transfer windows that could go on to become massive players in the game, but they still need to add some experienced players to the side.
He will not want to be sitting on the bench every week and will need to take a pay-cut to get that move but Sterling has been poor in that Chelsea shirt – so if he does leave the club – we are sure that he will not be missed.
