Chief Dele Faseru, the deputy leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ijesaland and a leader of the party in Osun State, chastised the executive committee for its passivity and complacency. Instead of treating Wike as if he were untouchable or divine, he advised the PDP to move decisively by getting rid of him and accepting the fallout.
