It appears in any part of the female body, especially the private parts. In one way or the other, you might have experienced after shaving bumps before — this usually occurs when the hair on the shaved part grows inwardly. At first, it appears to be like pimples but you realise as it stays longer on the skin, it becomes thicker and could last for days or months. These are some of the causes of bumps:
Perfumes and Soaps

The skin is the largest organ of the body but also delicate. Sometimes, unknowingly, the perfumes and soap you use can cause bumps and make the skin feel so dry and itchy. Sometimes, these bumps contain pus that just won’t come out easily and if it eventually does, it is accompanied by blood and if care is not taken, another one could surface.
Eczema

Eczema is a very common skin condition that can cause the spread of bumps on the skin most especially the vaginal area. It starts with a little bit of itchiness, then the skin starts to swell, hard-like and you’ll just realise it has become a bump.
Trapped Hair Follicle

When the hair follicle is trapped after a thin layer of skin grows on the newly-shaved skin; the bumps that emanate from this are not harmful but could become a source of irritation if it is picked with the hand. This action attracts bacteria but does not breed any unresolvable problems.
Body Wash and Cosmetics

Introducing the vagina to a new product like body wash and other cosmetics can invite dermatitis. It is a skin condition common at the vagina area after constant irritation, itchiness and painful bumps. Fragrance also contributes to skin allergy.
Cysts

Cysts are another cause of bump. It usually appears at the opening of the vagina. Although, they are usually not painful until they become infected. Sometimes, it appears yellowish or whitish. It becomes irritating when there is a burst.

It is very important as a woman to understand your body. After trying out a new product and you notice any differences on your skin just like the bump being discussed below it is advisable to stay away from such products.
Clothings that cause too much friction, especially the underwear, should be avoided from time to time.
You should always maintain good hygiene as much as possible. Clothes that cause itchiness throughout your day should be avoided and also sweaty wears after exercise should be changed immediately.
The vaginal area should be dry regularly. Always have a nice bath and dry gently.
Whichever way the pubic hair is removed it should be done appropriately. Shaving should be done gently and shaving cream should be applied afterwards.
