Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State and the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, was on Sunday night rattled out of his wits as he faced a barrage of questions from a Channels Television’s Sunday Politics anchor, Geoffrey Uzono......Read The Full Article>>.....Read The Full Article>>
After taking some questions about how Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) caused crisis last week in Benin City and trying to defend the party that they were not the one that led the carnage which resulted in the death of a police officer, Oshiomhole went on to speak ill of the Edo State government under the watch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
However, the anchor interrupted him, noting that the questions were about the APC governorship candidate for the September 21 election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and not the governor of the state and PDP. Uzono also drew Oshiomhole’s attention to the fact that he is not on the ballot, urging the Senator to help bring the APC candidate, Okpebholo, who had reportedly turned down several invites for an interview sent by the media station, to tell the people about his preparedness and discuss his manifestos for the good people of Edo State.
“So, Senator Oshiomhole, please help us beg your candidate to honour the invitation to talk to us about his plans for Edo State and the people,” he stated.
Oshiomhole, who was unprepared for the questions while trying to defend Okpebholo, totally went off the grid of the question, saying that governance is not in eloquence or speaking good English. He noted that Okpebholo must not talk with Channels as “he is already speaking to the people”.
Another question Oshiomhole found embarrassing and was unable to respond to was the issue of the nation’s economy under his party, the APC.
The former APC National Chairman ran out of patience, asking the interviewer why he was asking him questions he was not prepared for.
He said: “When I was invited for this interview today I wasn’t told I will be speaking about the economy of Nigeria and how things have gone back”.
Oshiomhole avoided speaking to that issue throughout the interview session.
