Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki, a chieftain of the People Democratic party and prominent member if the Asue/Oghie Campaign Organization has declared on live television that he would give 5 million naira to Seun Okibaloye the anchor of a popular TV program called Politics today if his party loses the coming governorship election slated for September 21. “Seun, we cannot lose that election. We are on ground everywhere in Edo state and would tell you without any iota of fear that the next Governor of Edo state would be Asue Ighodalo”
Dr. Pedro, a cousin of the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki anchored his confidence on the performance of the incumbent.
The program which aired earlier today dwelled on various issues around the coming polls.
The guest also lamented the harassment of the members of the People Democratic party members in the state and demanded a redeployment of the state commissioner of police whom he accused of working for the All Progressive Congress. The ruling party at the center.
“We in Edo are very peace loving people. We don’t however, sleep and allow anyone to walk on us. The former commissioner of police was taken out and a very bias man was posted here as his successor. I can tell you vehemently that he is a sympathiser of the ruling party which is in opposition here in Edo state. This man is not only from Rivers State where Nyesome Wike comes from, he is his good friend, his Kinsman and classmate. We all know the stand of Wike as far as this election is concern. We can’t accept this Commissioner. He will work for ApC and he is already demonstrating it by the indiscriminate arrest of our supporters and members if the party.
“Do you know the number of our people they’ve arrested? They harass us daily and I dare to say that this is not acceptable. The Cp should be redeployed immediately”
Seun Okibaloye, the anchor advised him to properly chanel his complains with verifiable evidence to the appropriate quarters.
“I know you know the seriousness of these allegations against the number one police officer of the state. By all means, channel your complains to the appropriate quarters. Although I’m not interested in who loses or wins the election. Edo people will decide that. However, If your party loses, I trust you will honor your wow and Two Million out of it would go to some Nigerians who can’t feed at the moment” He enthused.
