The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended nine individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud. According to a statement released by the EFCC on Tuesday via X, the operation was initiated based on credible intelligence. The statement read, “Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Directorate, have arrested nine suspected internet fraudsters.”
The operation led to the seizure of various items from the suspects, including 19 phones, one car, four laptops, and one iPad. The Commission announced its intent to pursue legal action, stating, “The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
