The 18-year-old had been told by the club that he would not represent any Chelsea teams until he signed a new contract.
Acheampong’s current deal expires in 2026, and Chelsea had opened talks over an extension earlier this season.
However, negotiations stalled, leading to the club’s decision to exclude him from all teams.
The England youth international participated in training with the senior side on Wednesday morning, ahead of Chelsea’s Conference League match against Heidenheim on Thursday night.
While it remains to be seen whether Acheampong will travel with the team to Germany, his return to training is a positive sign.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca had previously expressed his disappointment over Acheampong’s situation, calling it “a shame” that the young defender was out of the first-team picture.
