These protests, initially peaceful, escalated into violence in various states, leading to fatalities and property destruction.
In response, the NIS has increased its presence at borders, airports, and land entry points to curb foreign involvement and detain suspects.
A senior immigration officer mentioned that Sowore and others would be arrested upon entering Nigeria, indicating that the NIS has been directed to capture and hand them over to the relevant authorities.
Additionally, surveillance efforts have been ramped up to prevent external meddling in the nation’s internal matters.
A source within the agency confirmed that Sowore is indeed on their watch list, as his name was included in the list of individuals to be apprehended upon arrival.
“I can confirm to you that Sowore is definitely one of those on our watchlist. I saw his name among those forwarded to immigration to arrest on arrival in the country,” the source disclosed
