The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) claimed the rationale was to give him the liberty to choose his preferred candidates to work with, thus avoiding any form of rancour.

Recent reports indicate that the former Ajax forward has shortlisted some individuals he would like to work with in his new role.

According to OwnGoalNigeria, Finidi George’s list of backroom staff includes three foreigners who will serve as a match analyst, first assistant coach, and physical trainer.

Among his technical team, as per the report, also includes former Super Eagles goalkeeper Abiodun Baruwa as goalkeeper’s trainer and former Nigeria striker Daniel Amokachi as the second assistant.

The report also indicates that the NFF will meticulously review Finidi George’s proposed candidates, engaging in discussions with each individual regarding their salaries and payment structure, as per Sportbrief.
