Foden, Palmer Win Premier League PFA Awards

He has now won the award for the first time in his career after winning the young player of the year award twice.

The 24-year-old is proud and grateful to win his first PFA award.

He said, “To win this award is something very special and it is one that I am very proud of and grateful for,

“To be recognised this way by your fellow professionals means everything and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me.

“Last season was another very special one for everyone at the club, but now all our focus is concentrated on trying to achieve more success this term.”

Chelsea’s player of the year, Cole Palmer was named the PFA young player of the year after an impressive season at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old scored 22 goals in 34 Premier League matches for Chelsea in his first season.

He also followed it up with an impressive cameo for England in the final of the European Championship in Germany, he scored the only goal for his country.

Defending Champions, Manchester City and runners-up Arsenal dominated the PFA team of the year shortlist with each team producing four players each.

The quartet of Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and Rodri made the list for Manchester City, while Arsenal’s David Raya, Declan Rice, William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel alongside Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins completed the cast.
