This announcement was made in a list issued by the APC’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, on Thursday.

The Ondo governorship election is set for November 16, and Sanwo-Olu will lead a 305-member council, utilizing his leadership experience in Lagos to shape campaign strategies and activities aimed at securing victory.

Supporting him in this role is former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, who will serve as secretary. The campaign council also includes prominent APC figures such as Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, and Governor Dapo Abiodun, as well as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

The APC’s statement noted that the National Working Committee, led by Abdullahi Ganduje, has approved the formation of the Ondo State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council. The council will be inaugurated at the International Event Centre (The Dome) in Akure, Ondo State, on October 28.

The inclusion of high-profile political figures, such as Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, highlights the party’s commitment to consolidating its influence in the region.

The team also features notable former officials, including Olusola Oke, Stella Oduah, Uche Ekwunife, and General Abdulrahman Dambazau (Rtd), who will play vital roles in various campaign operations.
