The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Zamfara state, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, weekend, reacted to the recent pronouncement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the federal government under his leadership from inception to date, gave the sum of N500 billion to each of the 36 state governors......See Full Story>>.....See Full Story>>
He charged Nigerians to hold their respective governors responsible for the current socio-economic hardship they are facing.
Shinkafi, who is the executive director, Patriots for Advancement of Peace and Social Development and former national secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) stated Sunday while fielding questions from journalists in Gusau via telephone interview that the 36 state governors are the major problems of the country and not the federal government.
He challenged the governors for allegedly siphoning the money given to them for their personal interest rather than doing the needful for their people.
“These governors are our major problems in this country and it is very unfortunate that the sum of five hundred and seventy billion given to each of them by the federal government were mostly diverted to their personal gain, making lopsided political appointments, running bad government and not utilising the money for the betterment of their people.
“I am calling on Nigerians, particularly youth and less privileged people to hold their respective state governors responsible on what they did with the money given to them by President Tinubu in the last one year,” he said.
He urged the federal government to always checkmate the governors accesses and financial recklessness at all levels to ensure the development of the country.
