The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, shared that Ubah complained to his wife, Uchenna, about his sudden weakness. ” Seeing how weak her husband had become, she called emergency services for help. He slumped before the ambulance and first responders arrived at their residence. He was confirmed dead at the hospital, ” the source confirmed.
Born on September 3, 1971, Ifeanyi Ubah was the first son in a family of seven children. Due to financial constraints, he had to drop out of Premiere Academy, Lugbe, Abuja, at a young age to learn a trade. Fondly called ” Ebube Chukwu Uzo” , meaning ” Placing God First” , Ubah was a renowned politician, entrepreneur, and businessman. He founded Capital Oil and Gas in 2001 and served as its CEO until his death. Additionally, he ran the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, named after himself.
In 2019, Ubah was elected Senator on the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) and was reelected in 2023. He also contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election, finishing fourth in a contest won by Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). In September 2022, Ubah narrowly escaped assassination when gunmen attacked his convoy in Enugwu- Ukwu, Anambra State, resulting in the death of at least five people, including two policemen.
