Officials of Kano Hisbah Board claimed they arrested Sankara on Thursday night in the company of a married woman believed to be his concubine in an uncompleted building along Lamido Crescent road, Nassarawa GRA, Kano.

But Sankara, in a statement denied the allegation.

He said: “My attention has been drawn to a recent media report alleging that I, Auwal D. Sankara, Commissioner for Special Duties in the Jigawa State Government, have been arrested by the Kano Hisbah Command on charges of having an affair with a married woman.

I wish to categorically state that these allegations are entirely false, baseless, and malicious, aimed at tarnishing my reputation.

I urge the general public to disregard this fabricated story, which has been concocted by certain political elements to damage my character and integrity.

“As a married man, I have the utmost respect for the institution of marriage and would never engage in actions that violate its sanctity.

I remain committed to upholding the values and principles that I stand for.

I am taking this matter seriously and will pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading this false information and attempting to cause harm to my person.”

However the Director-General of Kano state Hisbah Board, Alhaji Saidu Sufi had, on Friday night, confirmed the arrest of Sankara, who he claimed was caught having illicit affair with a married woman at a hideout along Lamido Crescent Road, Nassarawa GRA, Kano.

Sufi, in an exclusive interview with our Correspondent revealed that Sankara is currently being detained at Kurmawa Correctional Centre, Kano.

“Yes. I can confirm to you that Sankara was arrested at a hidden place along Lamido Crescent Road. He is now at the Kurmawa prison.

It is an unfortunate incident,” Sufi said.

Our Correspondent reports that men of the Kano State Hisbah arrested Sankara, in an uncompleted building in Kano.

Sankara was reportedly arrested with a married woman under suspicious circumstances Thursday night.

The arrest followed a complaint by Nasiru Bulama, the woman’s husband, who accused the Sankara of engaging in an illicit affair with his wife, Tasleem Baba Nabegu, the mother of his two children.

Our correspondent gathered that Nasiru Bulama filed the complaint with the Kano State Police Command, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Hisbah Board, alleging Sankara’s involvement in illicit sexual activities with his wife.
