According to Joyce, she got married at a young age and was blessed with four kids. Her husband left her in the house and never returned, forcing her to struggle to take care of her children.
All her kids grew up and went to Nairobi to find work. They used to visit and help her pay her rent since her health had started to decline, and she couldn’t do heavy work.
She explains that after she developed a strange disease where her legs couldn’t move, two of her kids got into an accident while working in Nairobi, leaving her with only two kids who have abandoned her for years now.
She mentions that all her sisters and brothers have passed away, leaving her with no one to rely on. Despite appealing to good Samaritans for help, she faces six months of rent arrears, and her landlord has asked her to vacate in December since he can’t accommodate her anymore.
