The respected monarch made this plea in a statement released on Monday through Frank Irabor, Secretary of the Benin Traditional Council (BTC), who expressed the Oba’s confidence that Okpebholo would leverage his extensive experience as both a businessman and a politician to effectively fulfil his responsibilities to the people of Edo, both locally and in the Diaspora.

The monarch also offered prayers to God Almighty and his royal ancestors, seeking divine assistance so that the governor could lead the state towards greater achievements successfully.

The statement reads, “His Royal Majesty has no doubt that His Excellency’s vast wealth of experience as a businessman and politician, he (Okpebholo) will excel in this position and fulfill his mandate to Edo people at home and in the diaspora.

“His Royal Majesty urges His Excellency to operate a government that is all-inclusive in order to enhance the welfare of all and sundry in the state.”

The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has officially signed a revised Appropriation Bill into law, totalling N485.63 billion.

This move underscores the administration’s commitment to driving developmental initiatives across the state.

The budget, as approved by the Edo State House of Assembly, allocates N202.65 billion for recurrent expenditure and N282.99 billion for capital projects, reflecting the government’s focus on infrastructure and economic growth.

Speaking on Monday, November 18, at the Executive Council Chamber of Government House in Benin City, Governor Okpebholo commended the state lawmakers for the swift passage of the bill.

He noted that this development lays a strong foundation for transformative governance in Edo State.
