The AMBYF’s statement read by Comrade Aluh Moses Odeh, the National Leader, urged the President Tinubu and General Musa to sustain the campaign against terrorists, bandits and killer Fulani herdsmen until they are routed out completely.

The statement signed by the AMBYF’s executive members, also commend President Tinubu for retaining the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation in the Middle Belt and breaking the jinx to correct the age-long injustice done to the Middle Belt people in Abuja by appointing Hon. Zaphaniah Jisalo as minister.

This, it said, showed that Mr. President listens to the cries of Nigerians for justice because during electioneering in 2023, AMBYF was vocal that Abuja indigene should be considered for ministerial appointments.

The group also commended the appointment of Gen. Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and other Middle Belters who were appointed into strategic positions.

AMBYF said: “We also commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his recognition of our late father, Air Cdr. Dan Suleiman, as the Hero of Democracy in a widely read democracy day speech.

The group drew President Tinubu’s attention to also recognise the likes of Gen. TY Danjuma, Gen. David Mark, Air Cdr. David Jonah Jang, whose financial contributions kept the Diaspora NADECO to sustain the push and suffered detention severally.

“We wish to make it known to all that the good people of Middle Belt are not part of the move by some power mongers from Northern Nigeria of the Fulani extraction with their born to rule political acrimony knowing not democratic alternative and Constitutionalism to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

“We condemn the ongoing, but needless war and campaign of calumny against the Presidency of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not the cause of Nigeria’s year-long problem, but only offered himself to serve and that was why the electorates gave him their mandate to lead and deliver.

“As such, he should be supported, rather than being pulled down. We call on Northern elders, elites, youths and those power mongers making moves to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 to come together and join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our gallant Military and other Security Agencies to end the terrorism, rather than playing hide and seek game,” the group stated.

“We wish to make it known that to all that the good people of Middle Belt are not against any of their neighbours, taken a cue from the outburst of some disgruntled elements that threw tantrum at our Fathers and Leaders in Middle Belt, when we converged recently in Yola for the Grand Civic Reception and Award Presentation to illustrious sons and daughters organised by the Gongola Peoples Forum.

“It is a pity those so-called PhD holders could stoop to make such unguarded utterances, we commend our Fathers and Leaders for not wasting their precious time to say a word to those men who acquired higher degrees through quota system, whose only aim was to pull others down.

“Their actions to trivalise our peaceful gathering where we celebrated great men and women, who sacrificed so much for the unity of Nigeria, betrayed their academic qualifications so we may not be wrong to say that their PhD is Pull Him/Her Down.

“They and their co-travellers are still living in the past and do not know that the world and great people of the Middle Belt have gone passed their myopic reasoning.

“We strongly believe that they do not know that we are in the fourth industrial revolution age owing to their ways of thinking.”

The group maintained that Middle Belt has come of age, stressing, “We were never conquered by the Fulanis and can never be,” adding that although the Fulanis are known for their subtle ways of replacing the traditional stool of their hosts with Emir, but that was not the case in the Middle Belt.

The group stated that they grew up to see Och’Idoma, Ponzhi, Agwam Takad, Hama, Murum Mbula, Gbong Gwom, Attah Igala, Ohinoyi, Etsu, Chun Mada, Aku Uka, Orie Rindere, Aren Eggon, Gangwari Ganye, Kwandi Nunguraya, Agwom Izere, Amna Shelleng, Tor Tiv, Mishikagam, Ngolong Ngas, etc.

“Our traditional institution remains intact under our own control to choose who is to be the custodian of our revered culture and tradition, not any offspring of Othman dan Fodio,” the group stated.
