However, up till now no proper recognition has been given to this outstanding national hero, unlike people who has made less contribution to the nation

It is pertinent at this moment of ten years anniversary of the man known as Black Scorpion for the Federal Government to visit the good memories and contribution of this Ogbomoso-born general by immortalise him through naming an institution after him such Institutions as the proposed University of Aviation and Aerospace Technology in Ogbomoso land. The Bill for the establishment of the university moved by Senator Fatal Buhari representing Oyo North has passed the first reading at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Onigbinde, the Convener of Ogbomoso and Investment Summit, is of the opinion that the move not only create more jobs for the residents of the second largest economy in Oyo State but also contribute to national development. In addition such a gesture for Adekunle will also encourage others in the National Service. He stated that an honor for Brigadier Benjamin Adekunle is an honour to the entire Third Marine Commando.

Onigbinde who is also the Coordinator of Benjamin Adekunle Memorial Leadership Lecture which inaugural edition was held recently at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in Ogbomoso as part of 10th Year Remembrance of the Legend, believe that immortalization of the iconic war strategist will promote the spirit of nationalism among emerging leaders. He believes that the Administration of President Bola Tinubu has set a good record as a listening leader will surely act rightly in this regards

The Memorial Lecture is set to become a national event which aim at promoting a national leadership culture.
