The announcement was made at a ceremony held at the APC Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
The event, attended by party officials and beneficiaries.
State APC Chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru, praised the governor for his strategic vision, particularly in prioritizing gender sensitivity and ensuring that development reaches all sectors of the population.
Kana-Zuru highlighted several key achievements of the Idris administration, including the free distribution of fertilizers and small business support to farmers, food aid for residents, and the construction of roads equipped with solar-powered street lights in the state capital.
He also pointed to the completion of the multi-billion-naira ultra-modern state secretariat as a significant milestone.
“If you haven’t visited Kebbi in the last one or two years, if you come today, you will never believe what your eyes are seeing,” Kana-Zuru said, emphasizing the governor’s inclusive approach to governance.
He further noted that Governor Idris runs an open government, urging appointees to embrace transparency and ensure that the benefits of democracy reach all levels of society.
“His Excellency runs an open and inclusive government. He wants everybody to enjoy the fruits of democracy; that’s why he always tells his appointees to exhibit the habit of free-will gifts,” Kana-Zuru added.
In her remarks, the APC Women Leader in Kebbi, A’isha Gulabi, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the newly appointed youths. She underscored the broader impact of the appointments, emphasizing that they were not only for the appointees but for the entire Kebbi community.
“Because the appointments are not for the appointees, it’s for all of us, and many people stand to benefit from it,” Gulabi stated.
She also appealed to the youth to remain patient, loyal, and respectful, assuring those who had not been appointed yet that more opportunities would arise in the future.
Beneficiaries of the appointment echoed similar sentiments, lauding Governor Idris as a leader dedicated to serving the people and ensuring that democracy’s benefits reach every part of Kebbi State.
The appointment of the 200 special assistants is part of the governor’s broader strategy to engage and empower the youth, signaling his administration’s focus on development and fulfillment of campaign promises.
