Escaping Saudi boss by jumping off balcony
The heartbroken mum, who experienced several challenges in the Gulf, disclosed none of her family members knew about her affair with the employer’s brother or the baby.
Speaking to TUKO ZamZam said she had to run away when her employer found out she was pregnant months after arriving at her home.
“She thought it was her husband’s, and when she phoned him and her sister, I jumped from the house’s balcony, landed on the sand and ran away. I met a police officer who introduced me to some Kenyan women working there. I regretted making that decision because I suffered more in their hands,” she said.
Kiambu woman marks son after birth
She had to do embarrassing jobs as she looked for money to sustain herself in the foreign land while saving some money to return to Kenya.
When she was due, ZamZam, born and raised in Githurai 45, said she delivered in the house she lived in.
“I did not have money to go to hospital. Since I could not afford the professional medical services, I had to put an identification mark on my son. I put some initials on him so that if he ever gets lost, I can identify him,” she tearfully explained.
She continued to work as she looked for money and ways to return to Kenya, as life in Saudi Arabia was unbearable.
Why ZamZam couldn’t travel with son
ZamZam said she met someone who told her to give him money as he was organising the visa for the child.
“I worked closely with him but was heartbroken months later when I was told he returned to Kenya. He swindled me money and never delivered. Now, I had to start from scratch. I met another man who helped me. He even tried to book me a slot in a ship, but I could not travel with the baby because of his skin colour, being an Arab. If he were black, it would be fine,” she said.
ZamZam never lost hope until she found a way to return to Kenya without her baby, who had grown into a fine young boy.
However, ZamZam returned to Kenya when she was pregnant with another child because of what she had to do to make a living.
Kenyan single mum pregnant in Saudi Arabia
In another story, a single mum of four who left Kenya for Saudi Arabia in search of greener pastures was stranded with a two-month pregnancy after her boyfriend dumped her.
According to the lady, she complained because the giants used to complain that she had a big behind that always shook.
She was waiting for her pregnancy to reach five months so she could return home, but she didn’t know how to face her family in Kenya.
