Following his directive, a report by AIT claimed the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayaode, banned protests after Tinubu’s broadcast. In the video shared by AIT on X, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, while speaking to AIT, said:
“The situation on ground is that the protest has been called off in view of the president’s speech.
The organizers have decided to call it off as the President has spoken, and they are looking forward to him meeting their demands. In view of that, there should be no more gathering here or anywhere as any such gathering is unlawful and illegal. If such a gathering exists, we are going to apply the full wrath of the law.
