Lagos Police Arrest Security Guard, Francis Istifanus For Alleged ₦39m Theft

A security guard, Francis Istifanus, has been arrested for allegedly stealing property worth about ₦39 million from a company based in Ajah, Lagos State on Tuesday......KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE👈

Istifanus, who had been working at the warehouse for over two years, confessed to stealing various items, including: Industrial equipment, one industrial oven, one Mitsubishi air conditioner, a wood carving cutter, and a 25KVA generator set, a heavy-duty machinery, four heavy-duty jacks, appliances, a gas cooker, building materials four bank glass doors.

Both suspects were paraded before journalists on Tuesday by Umma Ayuba, the image maker in charge of Zone 2 and a Superintendent of Police.

“A case of stealing and receiving stolen properties was reported against Francis Istifanus, who had been working as a security guard at a warehouse in Ajah, Lagos, for over two years. “The suspect confessed to stealing one industrial oven, one Mitsubishi air conditioner, a wood carving cutter, four bank glass doors, a gas cooker, four heavy-duty jacks, a 25KVA generator set, and other industrial equipment worth over ₦39 million. “These items were loaded and taken to various receivers across the country before he was finally apprehended at his hideout in Abuja, FCT,”

Ayuba noted.

She also added that “efforts are being intensified to apprehend other fleeing suspects.”

Ayuba stated that Istifanus’s confession revealed a shocking breach of trust, highlighting the need for vigilance in securing private properties. The police are continuing to investigate both cases to ensure justice is served.

In a separate incident, Babatunde Ibrahim, an ex-convict, was apprehended by operatives of the Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan for cultism and illegal possession of firearms.
