Fast forward 41 years, and the song, which continues to resonate with audiences, found new life thanks to comedian Brain Jotter. His skit, featuring the track, sparked a viral dance challenge. In the performance, Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie humorously illustrates the tortoise being chased by the elephant, reflecting the song’s storyline.

The dance involves two participants moving towards each other and then engaging in a playful leg dance before one chases the other, timed with the “Gwo gwo gwo ngwo” section of the song.

The challenge has rapidly gained popularity on social media platforms like TikTok, amassing millions of views. As of July 21, 2024, Brain Jotter’s videos featuring the dance have collectively attracted over 28 million views. The trend is also catching on Instagram, with notable figures joining the fun.

Among the many participants, the Super Falcons were seen performing the dance in a video posted by Asisat Oshoala upon their arrival in Bordeaux for the 2024 Olympics.

While Ejeagha and his family have not yet publicly commented on this latest wave of fame, Brain Jotter has expressed his intent to locate the legendary artist, reportedly offering a N2 million reward for his whereabouts.

Ejeagha, born in the early 1930s and hails from Owa in Enugu State, is known for his unique musical style that blends Igbo proverbs with acoustic guitar melodies, making his work both educational and entertaining.
