They urged President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, to see a reason to appoint a replacement that would represent the state at the council.
The APC stakeholders, made their feelings known through their spokesman, Hon Sani Mudi, in an exclusive interview with BBC Hausa service, Sunday morning.
“For eight months now, we do not have a minister representing us at the Federal Executive Council, and it is a constitutional provision that each state shall have a representative in the Council.
“We are not comfortable that we are not represented in the council, most importantly, that Plateau is an APC state, even though this time around we’ve lost election due to some reasons, but the minds and souls of Plateau people are in the APC,” they said.
According to them, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, exercises the power to choose whoever is competent for appointment, which the state has competent personalities to fit in.
“We aware of the efforts made by our national assembly members and former Minster Lalong at seeing that the President make the replacement.
“We are missing a lot out of the Federal Executive Council, like the issues of budget, employment slots, and importantly the issues of insecurity, which if the state is represented the council would be better informed that would make it take informed decisions” the stakeholders said.
They said eight months is a long period, that even goes against constitutional provisions for appointing a minister into the council.
“In politics the issue of eagerness is not there, when it comes to the matters of rights, even in the constitution it is stipulated that an elected President shall not exceed two months without appointing his ministers, so you could see that it is about the law, that each State must have its representative in the Federal Executive Council,” they said.
