After her husband’s death, Irene Nafula worked hard as a house helper to feed and educate her children. Three of them went up to high school and got good jobs, while the other two dropped out of school. Nafula’s husband died in 2016, and her life completely changed.
“My children planned to poison me,” the lady said. After her husband’s death, she was left alone since her kids were against her, and her family claimed that they had already taken dowry, so they could not accommodate her. Irene Nafula reached a point where she wanted to throw herself into the river, but a voice informed her never to give up. “My children planned how to poison my food, and they used to pour water on me when I was asleep in my bed,” the lady confesses.
