Eddie Howe’s side have really turned the screw in recent weeks and are beginning to return to their best after an injury-hit season.

It’s become apparent that they’ve lacked squad depth this term and with that said, it seems they’re already targeting a young starlet to add to their attacking ranks.

According to Romano, Newcastle have submitted an offer for Arsenal’s  ‘unplayable’ winger Amario Cozier-Duberry.

Cozier-Duberry is in talks with The Gunners over a new deal but nothing has been signed as of yet and Newcastle are one of the clubs beginning to circle.

The left-footed winger has drawn comparison to Bukayo Saka, with Arsenal under-18s boss Jack Wilshere making that very claim.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a marvellous season for the reserve side, netting 13 goals whilst laying on five assists across 23 appearances.

Mikel Arteta is thought to be a big fan, so if The Tynesiders are to land his signature, it’d be a real coup.

Wilshere, who has managed Cozier-Duberry, waxed lyrical about the youngster last year.

“His super-strengths are his ball-carrying and ability to take people on. He’s an exciting footballer, but (has) loads to learn,” he said.

“Amario is very exciting and Mikel likes him. He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting.

“In some moments he’s unplayable. You give him the ball and he can make things happen. You can set up a team and have a game plan, but when you’ve got individuals like that you’ve got a chance.”

A telling few weeks await, but if The Magpies do pull it off, they’ve got a very exciting prospect on their hands.
