Muti recounted that the attackers, nine in total, targeted him while he was traveling in a tricycle. Two individuals posing as passengers had flagged down the tricycle, but as it stopped, a group of assailants emerged from nearby bushes and surrounded the vehicle.
During the ambush, Muti was stabbed twice in the stomach, and his phone and other valuables were stolen. The situation escalated when one of the attackers noticed Muti’s uniform trousers, mistaking him for a soldier, and alerted the others. Fearing consequences, the attackers abandoned him with injuries.
Muti’s injuries were treated, and he has since been discharged from the hospital, where he is now recovering. The assailants were reportedly armed with knives, cutlasses, daggers, and sticks, highlighting an ongoing security concern in the area.
