Makinde, also assured the people of the state that Ajayi would not disappoint them if elected in the November 16 election.
Leaders of the party in Oyo and Ondo states joined in the tour of communities in the Akoko areas of the state.
The campaign train moved to towns and villages of Akoko North-West and Akoko North-East LGAs of the state.
They also visited the palaces of the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh; the Owa Ale of Ikare Akoko, Oba Adeleke Adegbite; and the Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Victor Adetona.
Speaking, during the tour, Governor Makinde said the PDP candidate would not disappoint the people of the state, adding that Ajayi would also carry the traditional rulers along in his administration.
His words: “The victory of PDP in the forthcoming governorship poll would be a liberation for the people of the Sunshine State. This is a vote of liberation. Once there is security, every other thing will fall in place. Insecurity will be a thing of the past once Ajayi is elected as governor.
“If he wins the election, I want to assure you that Agboola Ajayi will give traditional rulers a place of pride once he is elected. We are behind him. We will do everything to ensure victory in the election.”
