Notwithstanding being placed in a challenging group alongside reigning world champions Spain, Japan, and Brazil, Okon believes the nine-time African champions possess the necessary qualities to advance.

Okon emphasised that the Super Falcons can navigate through the tough group stage and secure qualification.

“I trust the players because they know what is at stake.

“Names do not play football and so it will be 11 against 11 when the Super Falcons face these teams.

“There should be no fear because they also want to make a name for themselves at this level of the game,” the Rivers Angels coach maintained

Randy Waldrum’s team will kick off their Olympic campaign in Paris against Brazil in Bordeaux on July 25th.

The Super Falcons are set to make a comeback to the Olympics after being absent for 16 years.
