PDP in Disarray, Frustrated As Oshiomhole, Okpebholo, Idahosa Ignite Benin City Ahead Of Edo Guber Poll

The streets of Benin City, Edo State capital, were literally set ablaze with enthusiasm as Comrade Adams Oshiomhole led a formidable street-to-street campaign alongside the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, ahead of the September 21 election......See Full Story>>.....See Full Story>>

The event, held over the weekend, saw party supporters flooding the streets, chanting and waving banners, creating an atmosphere of hope and unity.

Okpebholo and Idahosa, affectionately known as Akpakomiza and Denco, respectively, appear to be capturing the hearts of Edo’s populace with their promises of development and transparent governance.

The campaign, symbolised by the mantra of “less talk, more action,” aims to shift from rhetoric to delivering tangible results.

The presence of Oshiomhole, a stalwart in Edo politics, added significant weight to the campaign.

His endorsement is seen as a powerful affirmation of Okpebholo and Idahosa’s capabilities and vision. Oshiomhole’s rallying cry invigorated the crowd, reinforcing the message that with the right leadership, Edo State could achieve unprecedented growth and development.

In an unnecessary reaction from the spokesman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign council, One Rev. Olu Martins in his bitter and watery article titled “Samson and the jawbone of the donkey: a look into the plight of a helpless comrade Senator” describe Comrades Adams Oshiomhole as “old, weak and expired”.

Although citizens have condemn Olu Martins for being a failed spokesman who struggles to impress his disqualified Candidate struggling to put himself together at the appeal court.

Read below the article Olu Martins wrote out of frustration after the All Progressives Congress (APC) successful outing;
Samson and the jawbone of the donkey: A look into the plight of a helpless comrade Senator Rev Olu Martins

I find the story of how Samson in the Bible used the jawbone of the donkey to kill one thousand people at once very interesting. What is however more interesting for me is that Samson doesn’t carry the same jawbone around. Instead he discards it and finds another methodology of dealing with the enemy when next they came against him.

You can imagine if Samson had kept the bone as a weapon or an insignia of his victory against the enemy, they would have found a way around the jawbone of the donkey knowing that is the only way Samson knows how to fight.

That one method works once doesn’t mean it would work all the time. That you campaigned for one candidate once and he won does not mean that if you can do it again. Afterall in 2020 you campaigned for another candidate and he failed woefully.. Times have changed and people have become wiser. The Internet age has also grown so it would be fool hardy to think that you can deceive all the people all the time.

A good dancer knows when to leave the stage for the other dancer. He leaves when the ovation is the loudest not when the music ends. Clearly Senator Adams Oshiomole is a bad dancer, he doesn’t know that the music has been turned off because he continues to dance to the implore of those who tell him that the Adams Oshiomole of yesterday is still the Adams Oshiomole of today.

The Adams Oshiomole of today is old, weak and expired. The Adams Oshiomole of today is overrated and under subscribed. The Adams Oshiomole of today was impeached as National Chairman of his party without much ado and the same comrade Adams Oshiomole was even suspended from his party at the ward level without the people fighting for him. Like Samson in his last days he didn’t know that the atmosphere had changed.. Samson told himself that “we go run am the way we first take dey run am” not knowing that the times were different.

Indeed the times are different today because in this case the PDP has a very cerebral, versatile, hardworking candidate who has raised the bar of political engagement from mere talk to philosophical deposition. Were it the case of a typical politician to another then Senator Adams Oshiomole’s village announcer style would have worked but when you have a candidate like Dr Asue Ighodalo who holds his end very well in terms of brilliant articulation , a surrogate Spokesperson won’t suffice.

What is more Senator Adams Oshiomole does not really engage in ideas and solutions when campaigning, he simply throws jibes and insults which doesn’t provide a clear road map for economic emancipation!that the APC government has thrown everyone into. No matter how hard comrade Adams Oshiomole tries he can’t whitewash a lacklustre barely educated, gubernatorial candidate, at least not in a State like Edo where the major principalities and powers of intelligence live on the streets of Aigobasinwin, its environs and beyond.

Edo people too get sense and one thousand comrade Oshiomole won’t make Monday Okpebholo suddenly become intelligent. Las Las na Monday buy ticket say him wan contest so na Monday go carry him own cross because him for fit finish him Senate jejely before him venture enter another position. But since him think say fluke fit work twice make him face the music and dance.

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown and face that bears the frown. There are no short cuts to being governor you must work hard for it including generating and espousing ideas. Like we say in the church circle “you can’t bring your fight to me and take the tithe to someone else. Monday can’t want the glory of being a governor and subordinate the responsibility of speaking to the issues to another. E nor go work.
