Speaking at the venue of the rally in Abuja, the minister, while calling for calm, urged mothers and youth leaders to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu by ensuring the peace, unity and progress of the country.

The minister explained that the progress and the desired good governance Nigerians are craving for could only be achieved in a peaceful nation and not in protests and chaos.

“We are mothers and we don’t want our children to die; we don’t want this protest because when there is protest, it shatters a country. This is why I have called our children, the youth across the country and our women, to organise this rally.

“I am begging Nigerians alongside my brothers, children and women, so that Nigerians will understand that the narratives are about to change.” She said the youth have assured her that they would support her effort to better the lot of women and children in Nigeria.

On his part, Dakubo pointed out that it is unfair for Nigerians to expect the President to solve all the problems in one year as he is not a magician.

Urging all women to encourage their children to embrace peace, the Niger Delta leader said women feel the pinch of whatever is happening during crisis more than any other group of people; reason they must preach peace and progress as well as discourage their children from participating in the planned protest.

Meanwhile, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has declared that they would not be party to the planned protest as long as their mothers, the women are against it. Its National President, Comrade Lucky Emonefe, stated: “As for Nigerian students, who are your children, we will listen to our mothers.”
