The Lagos State Police Command has invited one of the organisers of August #EndBadGovernance protest, the National Coordinator of the Take It Back Movement, Juwon Sanyaolu, to a meeting with the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a letter dated September 24, 2024, and signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department (SID), Jaiyeoba Joseph, the police stated that the invitation to Juwon and his executive members is to discuss “issues of national interest.”
The meeting is scheduled for today, September 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the office of the Commissioner of Police at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, when contacted on the invitation, said that the meeting would be amicable, adding that the police had no intention of arresting anyone.
He said: The planned October 1 protest would be part of the meeting’s agenda. It is not a confrontation. Even if he doesn’t attend, there’s no issue.”
