Ajose, who passed away in the early hours of Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the age of 78, was remembered as an elder statesman and a unifying force in Lagos State.

In a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s aide on information and strategy, the President extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, as well as the people of Badagry, where Ajose had significant influence.

President Tinubu highlighted Ajose’s outstanding contributions to public service and governance, praising his leadership and dedication during his tenure as Head of Service in Lagos State.

“He was an astute administrator and dogged civil servant. When I appointed him the head of service, he became a rallying point. He had a considerable influence on the workers. He was pivotal in getting the civil service behind our policies and initiatives.

“Even after his tenure as head of service, we remained very close because of his leadership qualities and because he was an important partner in development,” Tinubu said.

Commiserating with the family and loved ones of the deceased, the president expressed his sympathy to the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu while praying to God for the repose of his soul.
