The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has come under fire from Nigerian activist Aisha Yesufu for his role in the political unrest that has resurfaced in Rivers State. Recall that on Tuesday, several teenagers allegedly attacked some Local Government Chairmen who were scheduled to leave their posts on Monday due to the expiration of their tenure. The Chairmen were attempting to enter their offices.
On Tuesday, there were allegations of intermittent gunshots in Port Harcourt, the state capital, purportedly carried out by Rivers State Police command personnel.
Aisha responded to the problem by criticising the FCT Minister in a post on her X account on Tuesday, citing his purported complicity in the present conflict.
She wrote, “Wike thought he was smart and decided to dine with the devil not knowing he was on the menu.
” A powerless Wike is a great asset to Tinubu and Tinubu will ensure every power that Wike has is stripped so he becomes a proper errand boy that can be controlled completely.
“Without the structure of Rivers State Wike is a haggard old politician and I bet you Tinubu will rather have a deal with Fubara than Wike”.
