AZNews reports that this advice from Uchendu follows recent arson attacks in several local government areas in Rivers State and growing tensions between the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and Wike.
According to Channels TV, the prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uchendu shared that he has stepped into the state’s political situation, encouraging Minister Wike to dedicate his efforts to his ministerial duties and give Governor Fubara the freedom to fulfill his term as governor.
In Emohua, where some council buildings were set ablaze, local stakeholders united to move forward from the incident, pledging to focus on true development for the area.
Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, David Omereji, affirmed his commitment to equitable development across the region and expressed confidence in Governor Fubara’s ability to steer the state through challenging times.
During the session, the Legislative Assembly also appointed Precious Ada-George, a female councillor, as the new Leader of the House.
