Joe Johnson stated, “It is widely known that Mr. Adangor SAN explicitly mentioned in his resignation letter, dated 24th April 2024, on Ministry of Justice letterhead, following his redeployment as Commissioner for Special Duties (Governor’s Office). He stated that he would not accept reassignment and falsely claimed that the Governor was meddling in his duties.”

The statement further noted, “Instead of addressing the serious allegation made by His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, branding him a saboteur, the learned Senior Advocate of Nigeria has resorted to baseless accusations and falsehoods.”

The government emphasized that Governor Fubara’s track record makes it unlikely that he would interfere with Adangor’s duties or prompt him to initiate legal action against the President regarding the political crisis in Rivers State.

The statement concluded with a challenge to Prof. Zaccheus Adangor, SAN, to provide clarity and transparency regarding his resignation.
