Saintfiet, 51, assumed his role with the Philippines in February 2024, immediately after concluding his tenure with Gambia following the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
It remains uncertain if he will break his current contract to take up the position with Nigeria.
In addition to Saintfiet, the NFF has also reached out to representatives of Herve Renard, who is poised to depart from the French women’s national team.
However, Renard’s high salary demands present a significant obstacle.
The NFF is urgently seeking a new manager after Finidi George’s resignation, with the Super Eagles set to commence their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign in September.
