He decided to go abroad to look for greener pastures, and after four years, he came back. However, after a while, he had differences with his wife, and they got divorced, with her leaving with the child.
George says that he met a girl and they started dating. The girl didn’t open up to him that she was HIV positive, and he had already slept with her. As they were planning to go to her parents’ home, he felt they should get a checkup first.
George went to the chemist and bought the test kits. They went back to the house, and the girl told him to start with himself. His test came out negative. When the girl tested herself, the test came out positive, and he fainted.
He claims that when he woke up, he asked her why she didn’t tell him that she was sick. She then opened up to him and told him that she was born with HIV and feared that if she told him, he would leave her.
George says that he went to the hospital and went through medication for three months. From then, he ended the relationship with her. He has urged young people to always go for a checkup before dating to know their status.
