The pastor stated that according to the Bible, people should bring tithes and 10 percent of their earnings to the church and not use them to help the less privileged.
He emphasized that it is God’s duty to provide for the poor, widows, and orphans, and not the role of Christians to do so. He warned that if one refuses to give tithes and 10 percent of their earnings, God will take it by force.
“Stop giving your tithes to the poor and orphans; bring them to the church because that is where they belong and how it should be. Stop giving what belongs to us, men of God, to the poor, orphans, and widows because God is the one who is supposed to provide for them, not you,” he said.
