The distribution exercise is being carried out through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and it is expected to get to all the nooks and crannies of the State before the Eid Elkabir celebrations.
Speaking with during the official distribution of the rice, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Security, Stephen Niran Atidade commended Governor Adeleke for his kind gesture, describing him as a promise keeper.
He said the rice palliatives the Governor has ordered to be distributed will, no doubt, go a long way in easing the hardship of the people in these trying times.
“The gesture is the beginning of many good things to come from the present government. I urge residents of the state to continue to support and pray for the administration.”
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Moruf Adewale commended the transparent manner the processs has taken.
The Permanent Secretary added that the palliative will be shared among every organisation including labour leaders, civil dervants and people with disabilities throughout the state
