According to Cecilia, she met Leonard when she was still young because they were neighbors. Initially, she was afraid of him because of his looks, but as she grew up, they became good friends.
She claims that when Leonard proposed to her, she said yes because of his sweet words and the way he treated her. She accepted to be his wife for better or worse.
Cecilia says that people couldn’t believe she married a man with a disability. They used to tell her that their love would not last long or that she would never have children. However, they have proven them wrong. They are still together after more than 40 years, blessed with 10 children and 20 grandchildren, making theirs the largest family in their village.
Leonard says he loves his wife very much because, despite all the criticism from others, she did not abandon him. Instead, she stayed with him and ignored the negativity.
They have urged people not to discriminate against others because of their looks or disabilities, as God always has a purpose for everyone and everything happens for a reason.
