Benjamin Basil, a Polytechnic student who was apprehended in a viral video when he attempted to rob one hundred million naira from a bank using suspected bomb devices, has alleged that kidnappers forced him to commit the act.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a recent report by Punch, Basil explained that he was threatened at gunpoint by the kidnappers, who claimed they would shoot him if he did not cooporate. He said they strapped what he believed to be a bomb to his waist and instructed him to demand one hundred million naira from the bank. He said he was instructed to inform the bank cashier that he was wearing a bomb and that armed men were waiting outside to confront anyone who intervene.

He said he followed the kidnappers’ orders and entered the bank, relaying the threats to the cashier. Basil said the cashier promised not to raise alarm, however, he became confused when he saw customers and bank staff running so he tried to escape and he was apprehended by the bank’s security. The suspected bomb devices were later found to be harmless.
